Hi,

I understand that we can open a SnapDevelop project in Visual Studio.

Is there a PowerBuilder licence needed on a PC with Visual Studio using project with .NET DataStore?

Thanks,
Marcin

Hi Marcin,

.NET DataStore is licensed in two different ways, and it is up to you which way to license it.

1. Subscription Model

  • Licensed on a per developer basis.
  • Sold together with PowerBuilder Professional or CloudPro bundles.
  • Includes all C# libraries and related tools: SnapDevelop IDE, DataWindow Converter plugin, .NET DataStore scaffolding templates.
  • Does NOT include the source code of the C# libraries.

2. Perpetual Model

  • Licensed to entire company (all developers).
  • It is sold separately from PowerBuilder bundles.
  • Includes all C# libraries.
  • Includes the source code of the C# libraries.

So to make a long story short, if the developer working with Visual Studio has a PowerBuilder Professional or CloudPro subscription assigned to them, then from licensing perspective you are in compliance.

Best regards,
Armeen
