I just installed Appeon PowerBuilder 2017 R3 MR build 1915. But when I check the version of my PowerServer (AEM), it is still build 1880. How can I upgrade PowerServer to build 1915. My PowerBuilder version is build 1915.

Thanks,

Jon

Hi,

As far as I know, the 1915 build is for powerbuilder (classic) only.

The latest patch for powerserver is 1895, which you can install on top of 1880.

I do agree that Appeon can make the separation between powerserver and powerbuilder a bit clearer on the downloads page.

Also, right now, you cannot read the release notes and installation information until you have first downloaded the EBF / MR /patches completely. Something I hope Appeon will take notice of.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. Dose the Appeon PowerServer 2017 R3 build 1880 support Oracle 18 c? If it is not, do you have a plan to have a MR to do it?

Thanks,

Jon

Hi Jon,

Just to elaborate on what ZhaoKai said, surely we will support Oracle 18c in the future since we have already added support for this to PowerBuilder and Oracle is the 2nd most popular DB among our customers after SQL Server. It is just that currently we don't have a specific scheduled date so cannot comment exactly when. This is what Zhao Kai means when he says we have "no plan". If I were to guess, I would say it is reasonable to expect some time next year we would add support for this as part of the PowerServer 2021 release.

Regards,

Armeen
