Hi Appeon team,

Currently we are using Appeon PowerBuilder 2017 R3 version.

We have a requirement to place a file into directory (UNIX server) through SFTP

I know that we have some external dll which help us to accomplish the purpose but is there any inbuilt function in Appeon to connect SFTP server from PowerBuilder

Thanks,

Aaron

We've used quite a few ActiveX components from SocketTools. See SocketTools.com Active-X Components for more info. Each control is fully scriptable, and free to deploy.

We use WinSCP for FTP & SFTP. It's a good product and the cost (free) is hard to beat. It is also well-maintained. Updates are published on a reasonably regular schedule.

I have that installed. It has a COM (ActiveX) control that can be used from PowerBuilder. I have not tried it myself.

SMTP is for sending email, like Chris said you can use FTP to upload files to Unix.

My FTPClient example uses WinInet which does not support SFTP. If standard FTP will do, it would work quite well.

Hi Aaron;

  Do you mean via FTP (file transfer) versus email (SMTP) ... http://www.topwizprogramming.com/freecode_ftpclient.html
