Hello All,

Regarding .SaveAs :: The datawindow engine handles opening, writing and closing the file.  I have yet to find any documentation about fileaccess & filemode

I would “guess” fileaccess is Write-only and filemode is lock-write.  But I’m not sure.

Anyone have a clear answer

Hi Yakov;

   My guess would be file:  Write, Lock, Exclusive.

Is there an issue from your perspective for your Apps?

Thanks Chris

Multi-User /Multi-Process file contention is an  issue.  That's why I'm looking for a definitive answer before conducting an experiment or implementing a unique file naming scheme.  Unlike the saying "My guess is as good as yours

Yes, when I do these type of things in my web service framework, I use the IIS session number appended to the file name to get a unique system name so that no contention issues arise.

I'll check with Engineering for you though on this aspect.
