I downloaded the Beta installer.

If I choose 'Download an Install' I get an error message:

An unhandled exception just occurred:Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: String

If I choose 'Download' it works but it wasn't obvious where it put the files. I had to run it again before noticing the text at the bottom of the window.

The download comes in two zip files but it isn't noted anywhere that the PowerBuilderIDE folder has to be under the CommonFiles folder for it to work.

Hi Roland,

We've fixed the issue and updated the installer. You can try it again and see if it works for you now. Thanks!

Hi Roland,

Thanks for the feedback! Please help to report a bug at https://www.appeon.com/standardsupport/newbug for better tracking of the issue. Please also attach the log files of the Appeon Installer. The default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon\AppeonInstaller\log.

In the meantime, we will record your suggestions on the downloading and installation and will make some improvement in the next release. BTW, you don't need the CommonFiles for this particular release. It is mainly for further release where you may have other components like PowerServer (PB Edition) and PowerServer Toolkit.

Regards,

Tom Jiang

I did add a bug. The log file didn't have anything that appeared to be related to the error message.

Hi Roland;

  I would log this issue as a support ticket. https://www.appeon.com/developers/pb-2019-beta.html

FWIW: I downloaded the full install and that went well for me now on two W10 PC's!

FYI: I would recommend not installing any beta in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon" folder though where PB2017Rx resides. I used the path "C:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon\beta" for my install so that I kept the two separated otherwise, the beta will install into your current "Shared" folder. Not wise IMHO.

Just my $0.02

Regards ...  Chris
