Hi all,

I'd like to ask for the following enhancement/feature request, as I find it very annoying:

When you are in the PB IDE and have your mouse over the properties tab, if your mousepointer is on top of one of the many dddw in there, the contents will automatically change when you use the mousewheel to scroll down.

This will happen even when the cursor is positioned in a field like "Tag". It causes me to unvoluntarily change settings while all I wanted was to scroll down through the different properties on the tab.

Since I don't know all the default values, many times I just close the window or object without saving.

Before asking for this enhancement/feature request, I'd like to know what others think. Do you agree that it's a pain or do you rather have it change the values, even when you focus is in another field as the mouse pointer is positioned on?

Maybe I should just be more careful but sometimes I don't even notice I've unwillingly changed a value.

Please comment, what's your opinion?

regards

Thank you for all of your votes.

I'm marking this as "answered" as it's gone through as an enhancement request.

Anyone with more improvement requests, please ask. Appeon is great at listening to their users, something not many have done before.

cheers

This issue with the IDE is one reason I keep the Properties pane docked to the side of the various Painters at full height, so there are few, if any, properties that scroll off the bottom, therefore I don't ever use the scroll wheel in this pain, er, um, pane.

This issue is not only a PITA, its downright poor user interface design.

Lol, TY John, I've already requested the enhancement, let's see if we ever get an improvement on this.

there are a lot of things that need to be fixed in the ide.  my #1 is the old "you changed the sql so now datawindow updates won't work"gag that pb plays on us all the time.

but to answer your question, yes, that happens, but it is probably not in my top 5

True, that one is very irritating too but maybe a bit complicated to resolve. They'd have to parse the previous sql with the currently changed version, to know if that message has to be given or everything remains as is for the update properties.

Thanks Mike !

You're not alone. This is a major pain. When this happens to me, I usually do the same as you; I close the window and re-open.

Thanks Brad, I'll leave this open for a week to see if any more people would like to have it changed.
