Hi All,

  1. The latest Appeon Workspace for iOS in the App Store provides a great option to display keyboard on single click.  This has been a godsend as the longpress/double tap to display the keyboard on DW fields was causing our clients problems.  If we are deploying Appeon Workspace for Android directly from our Appeon Server, how can we get the same option??  I cannot seem to find any AWS updates anywhere to replace the latest Appeon installed version.

  2. In January I submitted a bug to Appeon Support about major icon issues when running on Android 7.  All the icons within the AWS and any Apps are displayed in a zoomed capacity and the apps are unusable (I would share a screenshot but the editor does not seem to allow me upload an image or attach one).  Appeon support replicated the issue, but so far no fix has been released.  This is causing major problems for one of our largest clients who are installing Android tablets across their operation to run the Appeon Apps.  Is there any news on a fix for this as it is very urgent?

Surely this has been resolved after 7 months!

Thanks for any advice,

Michael

Hi Michael,

Regarding #1, please make sure you are on the latest Build 119 of Appeon 2016, and then use the packaging wizard to create a new workspace.  If you are not sure where to obtain Build 119 of Appeon 2016, please contact your account manager.

Regarding #2, your comment is misleading.  Android 7  is not yet a supported OS.  We plan to tentatively support Android 7 by end of the year.  If you are able to reproduce the issue on a supported OS version then please open a support ticket.  But reporting bugs on not supported OS version will not be taken seriously.

Thanks,
Armeen

Hi Armeen,

Is there a quick and easy guide for using the packaging wizard to create a new AWS release.  We have the latest version of Appeon 2016 installed.

In relation to the Android 7 issue, I realize it is an unsupported OS, no offence was meant.  We are seeing this issue more and more now that newer Tablets and Phones are being sold with Android 7 as standard on them, so Android 7 is being forced upon us as a defacto OS by manufacturers.  Android 8 is just around the corner and with devices becoming better and more powrful I believe we will see quicker OS releases in the future.  As you can appreciate we are getting constant calls from our clients in relation to this and it is not always an option to tell them to downgrade their OS, as most would not be capable of doing this.  I realize that you guys must be flat out with Powerbuilder 2017 and appreciate that you do have the query on your radar for the future.

Regards,

Michael

Android 7 (Nougat) was released August 22, 2016. Market share is currently at 11.5%. It was only available for 5 months at the time you first reported the problem. Please be patient, I'm sure that they have been busy on-boarding the PowerBuilder code from SAP and putting together PB 2017.
