Hello,

We recently installed SQL SA 16 and loaded our data onto this new version coming from SQL SA 9. We were going through the deployment wizard provided by the PowerServer ToolKit when we reached the part to add a transaction object. We could not find the data source type of SQL SA 16 Native Driver although we certainly do have SQL SA 16 installed. Is there a certain process we have to follow to install a driver? Or are we missing something else we haven't thought of yet?

Thank you

Hi Sabir;

  PowerServer will need the 64bit db client to be installed. I suspect that all you have is the 32bit client. If so, just rerun the SA 16 install again and select the missing client bitness.

Hi Chris, thanks for your quick reply.

Unfortunately, after I ran the SQL Anywhere 16 Developer edition install file and clicked the modify button I saw that the 64bit version was indeed installed already and the 32bit version was left out. I ran through the install process again just to be sure but even so we're unable to get AEM to detect the SA 16 Native Drivers.

Do you know of any other troubleshooting steps we could take?

Make sure that it's the DB "client" 64bit driver and not the DBMS itself - which would default to 64bit. The "client" is the key.

Also, rerun the PS install and select the demo DB & Apps. That should also force the PS installer to verify the SA16's 64bit readiness.
